Scope 
NPPRJ publishes peer-reviewed articles in the field of pulp and paper science of direct relevance to the forest products industry and of the highest possible scientific quality, with emphasis on the on-going rapid changes in research and development of commodities and advanced forest products.
Printed issues of Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal are published four times a year, in March, June, September and December
Edited versions of papers accepted for publication are published on the NPPRJ website as soon as possible

Original manuscripts not scheduled for publication elsewhere in the fields of science and technology of wood or bio-mass constituents, pulp and paper, including new fiber-based materials, by-products from pulping processes, biorefining and energy issues will be considered for publication. All manuscripts are peer reviewed by well-known scientists in accordance with common scientific practice.

Manuscripts may be submitted by authors from any country.

NPPRJ as an Open Access Journal 
All articles published since the start of NPPRJ (see the Archive) are freely available to subscribers immediately after publication on the website.
Articles with Gold Open Access (see the Archive) are freely available to the public immediately after publication on the website.
Other articles may be purchased by credit card as a pdf file, to be downloaded within 24 h after ordering, at a price of 22 EUR per article (Value added tax may apply depending on your location. The tax is entered at payment logout.). Such articles have Green Open Access, i.e. authors may share articles on their personal non-commerical homepage immediately after publication on the NPPRJ website and download them to non-commercial hosting platforms one year after publication in a full issue of NPPRJ.
Authors may purchase Gold Open Access to individual articles.
There is no fee for publication with Green Open Access

NPPRJ was founded by the Swedish Association of Pulp and Paper Engineers (SPCI) in 1986. From 2013 NPPRJ is owned by Mid Sweden University (MiUN), Sundsvall and run as a project by MiUn, Chalmers University of Technology, Karlstad University, Royal Institute of Technology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Aalto University, Åbo Akademi University, Lappeenranta University of Technology and University of Oulu.
